• Big Bite Weekly #11

    Hello Nibblers!

Welcome to another edition of Big Bite Weekly, your weekly go-to DevLog for everything Big Bite Games. This week, I focused on the third revision of the Life in the Fast Lane Playtest Version and began designing the layout for the Official Version of the game. This official release promises significantly enhanced visuals with a host of new graphic elements that will make the overall look far more engaging.

For example, every in-game location will now have its own dedicated page featuring all related details—such as available actions, unique mechanics, and special rules. Moreover, instead of the original 7 Archetypes, the game will now include 10!

New locations will also be added. As an example, Cold Cash Conquest—a pawn shop where players can trade Valuables for Money.

I also decided to drop the Time Tokens to adopt a standard Action Points system. While Time Tokens were more in theme and tone with the game it is inspired from (Jones in the Fast Lane), it felt out of place during playtests.

In short, the Official Version is expected to span around 50 pages and will be launched via Crowdfundr to support its development. There will also be some exciting stretch goals, including an Archetypes Guide. This guide will not only cover the 10 basic Archetypes but also introduce 10 new ones, along with their specific game rules, promising an even more engaging gameplay experience with some wild additions like the Conspiracy Theorist!

Although the Official Version is far from being launched, there’s plenty to look forward to.

Looking ahead, I also plan to roll out other themed iterations such as Life in the Wasteland, Life in the Old West, Life in the Kingdom, and Life in Deep Space. Stay tuned for more details in the near future!

That’s all for today’s edition of Big Bite News. This is Pat, wishing you a fantastic weekend!
